Hello,

I have a dell poweredge 2650 at a customer site and I was installing a Creative External Modem (Modem Blaster v.92 serial) on the server. Everything installs ok as far as the modem is concerned but when I go to query the modem or use any program that accesses the modem the system hard locks. As a first step I tried a different com port with no luck then decided to make sure the modem works before I went any farther. I came back to the office and tried it on a machine here and it worked without any issue. As this is a remote location I have to drive out there to do this and I have no internet connection while I am there so I am trying to narrow down possibilities in advance of my next visit.

Has anyone ever experienced this issue before? I am not too familiar with dell servers and I don't know if there is a common issue related to this at all.

Some extra information about the server :

OS: Windows 2000 Server SP4

Only extra hardware added in to it are 2 Dialogic voice cards which are functioning properly.
