Hi,

I have a MD3000i with 16 160Gb SAS drives.  I wonder if I can rip out 4 of these (after having moved all data away, of course) and put in four 2Tb SAS drives of which I configure one as hotspare.  This leaves me with two hotspares for the 160Gb drives and one for the bigger 2Tb drives.

Will my MD3000i handle the different drive sizes and automatically assign the correctly sized hotspare in case of failure?

Any other issues or problem I should be aware of when using different drives with the MD3000i?
