MD3220i RAID controller suddenly no lights
Hi, We have a MD3220i, which suddenly sent out a critical error email
Summary Node ID: IMS_MD3220i_2 Event Error Code: 1710 Event occurred: Mar 24, 2019 3:46:50 AM Event Message: RAID Controller Module wide port has gone to failed state Event Priority: Critical Component Type: RAID Controller Module Component Location: Enclosure 0, Slot 1
There are no lights on the controller and I tried to re-seat the controller to no vail. I am assuming the controller is dead. There was no disruption since we had the second controller as well multipathing setup in esxi. Once we get the new controller , are there any procedures to be followed or is it simply removing the old one and inserting the new one? Most likely the firmwares will be different. Will that cause any issues? Is there a way to check if the new controller we buy (which most likely will be refurb since I doubt if anyone has new) has good battery life remaining? Thanks
