Big SATA HDDs in a Tower 5820

I was just wondering if anyone has tried and successfully used bigger hard drives than the 12TB drives Dell says are the limit... I was thinking about making a small family file server with 4 x Seagate Exos 20TB drives I have lying around, and this little workstation would be perfect for that.

12TB is just what Dell tested with the 5820 back in 2018.  No reason why you can't try 20TB.  At worst, if it doesn't work, PC may freeze.

@bradthetechnut Thanks for answering!! And yeah... I suppose I can just try them. I just have to exchange one of the NVME U.2 backplanes with a SATA one first...lol. Was just looking for an easy answer before I did the work. ;)

You're welcome.  :)  On many Dell's, including some Precision's, the max spec for storage can be exceeded.
