I recently bought a Del Precision 7550, it is almost perfect, my only worries rely on the GPU, and I plan to replace it when I get enough cash.
My version has a Quadro T2000, which was the only one available, if someday I decide to replace it with a more powerful RTX card, could I do it easily or is it welded into the motherboard?

Dell designed the Precision laptops with a graphics card that plugs into a connector on the main board. Download the service manual for your 7550. "Installing the GPU card" starts on page 73. Sadly, this Dell manual doesn't contain a good photo identifying the card's location. The manual for my 7560 does, and I strongly suspect the two models are very similar so looking in the 7560's service manual might help.

I know reviving a thread but this may be useful for someone. I upgraded a quadro t2000 to a RTX 3000 in my precision 7550. it required pulling out the mainboard to get to the GPU module. The key thing is that there is a black sticker on the heatsink for the quadro t2000's smaller die that has to be removed in order for the heatsink to make proper contact (and it does 60-75c under full load). When screwing the screws into the DGFF connectors make sure it is TIGHT otherwise you will only get x8 speed or internal + usb c display outs will not work. So if anyone comes across this in the future go ahead swap the cards!
Now if anyone is daring enough to swap in a card from a 7560 I would be interested.
Once I got past those issues it works well as a cheap gaming laptop. (I know quados are not the best for it but can not beat the results, beats my undercooled gtx 1080 in my old desktop)
@Crazycatboyz which cpu do you have? (and the thread breathes life lol)

@Crazycatboyz I tried to upgrade an Intel UHD graphics card to a RTX 3000 in my precision 7550 and placed three DGFF connectors but I could not turn on the laptop, any idea what went wrong?

The GPU is replaceable.
