A920 Printer Spooling Problem

I reinstalled the driver for my A920 printer after it would not clear a document from the printer queue after printing it.  It would show the printing status and only get up to 99%, but would print the entire document.  It just never clears it out and therefore, you cannot print other documents after it.

I reinstalled the driver and while doing so, I got a message that the spooler was off and it would turn it on.  Again, after the download, I was able to print one document and again, there it is sitting in the queue again...back to square one.  Any help from you guys???

Come on Dell Guys, Please jump in.
This seems to be acoomon problem with anyone trying to use your printers with a print server. My Dell printer just sits and I use my old HP because of this problem. At least tell us what servers your printers work with.

I feel a lot better now having company with the same problem I'm having with my A920 printer. Printing status indicates 99% and therefore I'm only able to print 1 documtent at the time. I have to remove the power supply or totally shut down. So is there a solution?  Please anybody advise.

    Thanks.

Is you computer networked to another one?  Mine is, but is set to only print to this computer so I just can't figure out what's going on.  And instead of working with me to determine the problem, Dell just decided to send a new one (only had two e-mails back and forth trying to figure out the problem).  Why are they so willing to send a brand new one when that may not be necessary?  That was on the 19th of September and I was supposed to receive it in 3-5 days.  It is now October 3 and I still don't have the new one.

I am considering sending them both back (if the other one does come) and getting a refund on it.  I am currently having to e-mail documents to my other computer to print to the HP 612C printer that is over 5 years old now.

I think we all should change to an HP printer. I used to have one but gave it to my son because I bought a Dell Dimension and thought that their printer would be more compatible and would make a " nice set ".  Wrong   -  I never ever had a problem with my HP printer, worked like a charm. This Dell printer is a Mickey Mouse. It rattles, is slow and I have nothing but problems with it.

I had the same problem and uninstalled from the start menu not from the control panel.  However, see my inserted notes below.
    Removing and reinstalling the software

If the printer software is not functioning properly or a communications error message displays when you try to use the printer, you may need to remove, and then reinstall the printer software.

    1. From the desktop, click Start ® Programs ® Dell Printers ® Dell AIO Printer A920 ® Uninstall Dell AIO Printer A920.

NOTE: If Uninstall is not an option on the menu, see Installation appears incomplete.
    1. Follow the instructions on the computer screen to remove the printer software.

    2. Restart the computer before reinstalling the software.

After restarting the computer started reinstalling the software itself because it found a new hardware device on start up.  I did not need to install the Drivers and Utilities CD I ran a test print during the load and it completed the status 100% and closed.  There was also no file in the queue. I printed a test page from the properties menu and also printed 2 word docs and no problems right now.

Let me know how you made out unless you already fixed it.

    1. Insert the Drivers and Utilities CD and follow the instructions on the computer screen to install the software. For help, refer to the setup documentation.
