Has anyone else had a problem with the Paper in the A960 Loading crooked. I just recently purchased this printer and I have read the instructions over and over. It seems when I try to print the paper gets fed a little sideways. Sometimes the printing is off on the page. I think I should of went with my first instinct and bought a HP printer that has flat paper loading. I just love my other Printer, a HP Deskjet 842.
I have same problem only worse.........it loads crooked and then jams the paper....I have followed loading paper instructions putting paper to right side and sliding the feed lever on the left so it is snug against right side......still jams.....I have used this paper bond weight on my cannon printer no problem.....I turned off computer and restarted unplugging printer and replugging it in....still jams....I called tech line for help they kept me on the phone holding for next available tech 30 minutes no one answered....I went on line to chat and no one answered....Dell service is too poor for words but they are right there for ya to sell you some of their junk products
The A960 printer has only one roller for advancing the paper. This may cause the paper to shift as it is pulled into the printer. In most cases the printer is working correctly, and the printing on the page will be aligned correctly. If your printing is not aligned properly, or you get paper jams, then you should make sure that your paper tray is aligned correctly, and that your paper is fitted into the tray correctly. If both of these are true, and the paper continues to jam, or the printing is misaligned, then there may be a problem with your printer, and you should contact Technical Support.
Same problem here also. Paper loads crooked by design. I am not very impressed so far with the Dell printer. Right now, the Automatic Document Feeder is no longer working after only 1 week. :>(
1) Determine what kind of paper feed issue is occuring.
Choose what type of paper feed issue is occuring from the following
list:
Paper Jam - Paper continues to get stuck in the printer.
Paper Skew - Paper feeds at an angle through printer.
Multiple sheets pulled - Printer pulls several sheets of paper
at once.
2) Verify optimal amount of paper in the tray.
Although each printer tray has a maximum capacity rating, this
rating is based on a specified paper weight/thickness. Consequently,
situations may arise in which the tray will not be able to accommodate
the maximum number of sheets listed in the printer specifications.
Verify that the paper is not packed too tightly in the paper
tray.
NOTE: Many paper trays have a "max fill" line to indicate the
maximum amount of paper that should be loaded at any given time.
3) Adjust the paper guide to the correct position. - A940
4) Locate and remove any obstructions inside the printer and
input tray. - A920/A940/A960/J740
To locate and remove obstructions from within the printer perform
the following steps:
Open the front cover and make sure the kickstand is engaged.
Locate and remove any obstructions within the printer such as
paper pieces, staples, tape, etc.
Close the cover.
Remove all paper from the input tray.
Inspect the input tray for any obstructions.
Replace the paper.
5) Try a different type of paper.
Many image quality and paper feed issues are caused by the type
of paper being used. Try a different type of paper that is specifically
made for this printer.
I hope this will resolve your issue.
After you have tried all of this, then try contacting Technical Support and arrange for a new printer to be send out under warranty. If its not under warranty you may be out of luck .
Won't have to worry. It went back to Dell the same way it came. It was only a couple of days old. I will never buy another printer from Dell. I just hope for everyones sake its Lexmark counterpart doesn't do the same thing. Seemed like a good deal at the time but I am going to go buy a HP printer like I should of done in the first place.
Thanks for your response but did you read my problem.....I have done all you suggest EVEN calling, emailing and on line chat with tech....no one answered any of my requests from tech re the printer situation.....WHAT NOW????????
Thanks Ryan but I have been using computer printers for decades and have used all my expertise to resolve the issue (including your suggestions) and the problem persists......I think the printer is, simply, an issue of poor design.....
