Using Message Rules in Outlook Express

I've established a few message rules in order to route incoming email to desired locations. However, when I leave Outlook Express they all disappear and I have to set them over again each time I bring up OE. Can't understand why this would happen as I have checked the appropiate "Apply" and "OK" boxes when initally establishing them.

I have new Dell 8400/SP2 and wonder if this could be one of those SP2 challenges. I've used IE6 and OE6 on other systems and never had this problem previously. I'm getting frustated and wonder if others have experience problems with OE6 message rules. I have reinstalled Outlook Express 6 several times but still the same results. Appreciate any suggestions or fixes. Thanks.

    Hey Vet,

Are you by chance using Outlook to pull email from a Hotmail account? Only thing I could find is that you can't create rules for Hotmail accounts.

If that isn't the case, then you may want to try creating a new identity in Outlook Express and see if you get the same issue. How to set up a new identity: http://www.onecomputerguy.com/app_info/outlook_express_6.htm#identies

    Thanks Steve,

Appreciate your thoughts. I already tried your new idenity cure that was also suggested by a friend but did not help the siutation. I am the only user of the computer and have not been involved with any Hotmail activity. The message rule thing is not really cruicial and does not affect any other part of my system and sooner or later I will eventually come across a fix. Thanks much for you help.
