Word & Excel... Save Options

HELP.... All of a sudden, I do not get the Dialog Box that allows me to type in the name of the file when I use   SAVEAS   in either my Word or Excel programs.  I am running Office XP... version 2002.

    What happens when you click "Save As..."? Nothing at all?

    All I get is a File Directory showing all the Word or Excel files already created.... doesn't allow me to create the name of any new files.
