2300mp

Wonder if anyone can help. I have a 13 month old (no longer under warrantly) 2300mp, 530hrs on the lamp. The picture has been superb, and bright. I use it for DVD and HDTV. Over the last week the image has become very dark. I have done a factory reset and no change. I did the video diagnostic, and while that works, all the images were very dark/dull. It may be my imagination, but when I turn the projector on it also seems to take less time to warm up before looking for the input source. Has anyone else had similar problems? Do you think that the lamp has died early, or something else?

the bad thing about projector lamps is there just like regular bulbs the 3000 HR life is what is considered a half life ( where the bulb is half as bright) but just like regular light bulbs any exposure to moisture (ie. humidity etc.) and various other factors can seriously shorten bulb life. so its (3000 HR.) is more of a guess estimate. check your connections make sure that you dont have the S-video and the component hooked up to the same device.( I made that mistake) this greatly reduces the percieved brightness level by creating a redundant signal loop. also it wouldn't hurt to check and see if your eco-mode (in the menu-management) is turned on by mistake.

    Thanks mawmojojojo  for your response.

If anyone else has thit problem it was simply that the lamp had gone. I purchased a new lamp and it is working as good as new. I did contact Dell with my concerns, and I couldn't be happier with their support. It will be interesting to see how long lamps work for in the future.
