Disk Clean up

Every time I try to do a disk clean-up, it seems to get stuck when it is scanning "old compressed files"  and it won't go any further.  Any suggestions?

    teadrinker.

If you are using XP then this registry edit will remove "Compress Old Files" from the disk cleanup and allow the program to complete.

    teadrinker,

    You're welcome.

That fix came from Denny Denton's very useful website.

Hi there .I followed your advise & it did fix the problem ...Thankyou  .........

My question now is that  when I run the disk clean ...the "compress old files" is missing . Do I need to get that back now so that the older files that I am not using will just keep compressing & stacking up ?
