"I'm having a problem with my Dimensions 3000 XP sp2.

Firefox, Thunderbird, and about half of my stored pictures have been wiped out. I
cannot reload either program. My add/remove programs in control panel will not
populate. I can use IE 6.0...

I'm thinking I have a hard drive failure happening, right?

Under event viewer, I get multiple/numerous/hundreds of disk errors under "systems".
They all state :

The device, \Device\Harddisk0\D, has a bad block.

My computer is still working, but for how long? I don't know. {Sure am glad I do
regular back-ups!}"
