i'm thinking of reformatting my hard drive and installing vista on a trial basis for a little while to see what it's like before i buy the program. i was also thinking about partitioning my hard drive so that i have all my programs on C:\ drive and have it set up to put all my data on (let's say) D:\ drive. is this even possible? if yes and i didn't like vista and went to put XP back on would i only have to reformat C:\ drive or would i have to wipe out the entire second partition as well?

i have a dimension 9150 pentium D 830 3.00ghz dual core, 3gb ram and 2 x 160gb SATA hard drives.
