My Dell Dimension 8300 is no longer showing my cd/dvd drive on the root directory. Within device manager it is showing a yellow question mark against "Samsung CDRW/DVD SM-348B" and an error message which reads " Windows succesfully loaded the device driver for this hardware but cannot find the hardware device (code 41). The F12 Dell diagnostics express test returns an error code 0F00:133D with the message "IDE device failed:Incompatible CD for testing".

I have tried the CD fix exe. file posted on the forum board but it has made no difference.

I have also tried to update the driver via the Dell website but have been unable to find an exact match for "Samsung CDRW/DVD SM-348B"

Any help would be appreciated.
