Partition Problems

I am unavailable to recover a partition that i made using Windows NT. I have now windows 98 loaded on my machine, and out of a 6 gb hard drive I have only 2 GB accessible. I think the remaining space is not accessible because it is in NTFS. I have tried using Fdisk, but it is not able to repartition it, cos it is not bale to delete the extended partition, It says that there exists a logical drive. When i try deleting the logical drive it says taht no logical drive exists.

can someone tell me how i can resolve this problem, thank you

DOS and Windows 9x are not always able to delete an NTFS partition. The way around it would be to boot to the Windows NT installation disks (or the CD-Rom) and in the selection for the partition, delete the existing NTFS partition.

Another way would be to use a partitioning tool like Partition Magic (www.powerquest.com) or Partition Commander (www.v-com.com).

you may be able to remove the partions with a debug script but it will remove everything on the drive
i found the script by asking Dudley on the Dell web site about "DEBUG" and it worked for me just followed the instructions

I've had the same problem, Fdisk will work just fine, except you need to use, Delete Non-Dos Partition in order to delete the NTFS partition.

Hopefully they figured it out, seeing as how this post is from 3 years ago! ;)
