whenever i copy files onto disc for backup, the system crashes (blue screen)when i either eject the disc, or the system ejects the disc when it finishes the "make compatible" dialogue. i experience this on both systems i own (dimension4700, inspiron6000), and when i use either cd-r or cd-rw discs. When i restart, there is a message informing me there was a problem with a driver.

 

Recently, after reading through other similar (but not identical) posts, i removed sonicDLA from both systems, on the dim4700 all seems fine, i'm able to use the drive, add files to the disc using windows explorer when i access the drive by start/my computer/E: , but on the inspiron6000, i cannot add files the same way, and my sonic recordnow copy/data give me error messages telling me they arent loaded correctly, or is missing files when i try that route. I went to dell's support page for my system, and dl'd the DLAx5 update/patch they offered, but still experience the same crashing at make compatible/eject..... 

 

definitly need a way to backup on disc, so this makes everything useless (or at least VERY troublesome, having to restart, wait for startup to finish every time i close/backup a project, between 7-13 times a day) until' this gets resolved. If i have to, i suppose i can actually call dell, if i'm able to get a tech i can actually hear,understand, and talk to without spending more time repeating myself, or making him/her repeat themselves to walk through this. Don't get me wrong, though, if you get ahold of the right one, there's nobody better, they've solved everything i've deemed worth the time/trouble to throw at them. You might have to hang up twice, get transfered three times, and eat/sleep/relieve yourself during this process of processes, but hey that's totally worth the bul- i digress, needless to say, help!     please.
