Unity iSCSI connection setup

Hi there ...

Can anybody confirm below registration need to be set ONLY iSCSI service is ON upon connecting Unity ?

・LinkDownTime

  ・AsyncLogoutPauseTimeout

  ・DelayBetweenReconnect

  ・SrbTimeoutDelt

・MaxRequestHoldTime

As https://support.emc.com/docu69325_Unity-Configuring-Hosts-to-Access-Fibre-Channel-(FC)-or-iSCSI-Storage.pdf?language=en_US

Page 59 shows above registry and seems indicating this need to be set even it is FC connection ...

thanks !

Those values need to be set IF you're running PowerPath and it's for both FC and iSCSI and you are connecting a Windows host.

Also, for iSCSI you need to disable TCP Delayed ACK - please see the following article:

Following up on an older thread, looking to find the answer.

It also seems to matter which type of NIC, and in this case I have TCP-offloaded (Intel 560FLR)

Do we need to tweak win2k16/iscsi on Unity (no powerpath)

    docu69325_Unity-Configuring-Hosts-to-Access-Fibre-Channel-(FC)-or-iSCSI-Storage.pdf

    • MaxRequestHoldTime

    KB468345

    • delayed ACK timer
    • Disable Large Send Offload (LSO)
    • TcpAckFrequency

    Thanks

As far as I can determine the settings for iSCSI interfaces on Windows 2016 should be the same as on 2012. For TOE interfaces, you'll need to make sure that the drivers are up to date.
