Here is the error message I recieved when I start my computer.
C:\PROGRA-1\mywebs-1\bar\1.bin\m3plugin.dll
The dash is suppose to be a squiggly line; I could not find the character key for that.
Except for the message, my computer does not run differently; it's slow, but it's been slow for a while. I remember I started getting this error message after I responded to a prompt from my virus/malware scan. I can't remember what the prompt was. I think it had something to do with removing a particular file. I remember I had reservations, and never quite felt confident in my response. I can't remember the details. I'm not even sure if I performed the scan with McAfee or Ad-Aware.
I typed the error message in google search, several forums came up. One solutions seemed easy, simply uncheck a box in the Startup menu. I haven't tried it. I've always recieved my advice from this forum. Which has been very helpful.
One final comment. I posted a thread regarding my other computer, Dell Inspiron E 1450, which is really my sister's. I successfully reinstalled everything, manually, but I'm not sure how to get my post to read as "solved." However, I did typed solved in the thread.

M3PLUGIN.DLL is not a virus, but we can take care of it.
annihisin, you have some choices:
1. You can, at risk, continue working with the person who has taken ownership of this thread.
Regarding your "solved" comment, we do not label posts as such on this forum because each system is different, and what works for one may be dangerous or not necessary for another.
Hi Bugbatter, There seems to be a problem here. 1. Im not trying to take over this thread, if you have something to say thats ok with me. However, this thread is not yours, anybody can post on this tread, and any other thread as well. You advertise yourself as an security analysis professional, well we only have your word on that. The only thing that we do know you can do is to add graphics to the bottom of your posts, Im sure you went to a good school to learn that.

You reply to it, you own it until the problem is fixed.
As stated in the announcement at the top of this forum:
Because of the very nature of malware removal procedures, we request that anyone wishing to assist on the HijackThis Board use one of the following training resources to become qualified to give advice on diagnostic logs posted on that board.
