Morwill search problem

Every time I use a search engine and then click on the links it takes me to Morwillsearch.com or lycos.com or directly to an Incest site. Can u help with this.

Click on FIX CHECKED. Close HJT. Reboot.

[For your information: the MorWilSearch problem is caused by the 3 bold blue lines, with filename qnmucyjh.dll.

the bold RED and BLACK lines are separate problems, which we can (hopefully) remove at the same time. if for any reason, one (or more) of these lines are "resistant", then separately try to remove the others.

the "normal" (non-bold) lines are just minor "touch-ups", concerning non-existent files]

* Save it to your Desktop
* Close all running programs (including your Internet Browser)
* Double-click VirtumundoBeGone.exe on the desktop
* Follow the directions as indicated

please be advised that this program will generate a "BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH"... this is an expected/necessary part of the process, so don't be surprised when it happens.
just reboot if your system "jams"

nice work so far... looks like we successfully removed MorWilSearch, WinFixer, and at least two other problems. and it seems you're a satisfied "customer"

At this point, I'm gonna try to ask someone else to step-in, to determine additional problems (if any) that you might have. Please be advised that we're very "understaffed" at the moment, so I can't make any guarantee as to when the next helper will arrive.

Looks like you have one of the coolwebsearch infections. Get cwshredder from

http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

and run it let it fix anything it finds.

Download the Hoster from:

http://www.funkytoad.com/

Unpack to your desktop and run it. If you have green print at the top then just press Restore Original Hosts then OK.
IF you have red print then press make Hosts Writeable first.

Get DelDomain.inf from:

http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/DelDomains.inf and then right click on it and Install. Nothing much will happen.

Download and install ccleaner.exe from http://www.ccleaner.com. Don't let
it clean anything yet.

Download the killbox:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/killbox.php

Unzip it to your desktop but don't run it.

Shutdown and Restart and Boot into Safe Mode by tapping the F8 key when you see the PC
maker's logo.
Keep tapping until it tells you it is going to Safe Mode or you see the Safe
Mode menu. Select the top option. Try to log in with your usual login if possible otherwise it is hard to find the programs on your desktop.

Run HijackThis and just do a Scan only. Check then Fix Checked the following:

Run ccleaner.exe, uncheck everything on the first page except the two entries
with Temporary and the one for the recycle bin and then Run Cleaner.

Run killbox. Where it says Full Path of File to Delete you need to type or copy (Hightlight and Ctrl + c)
and Paste (move to the killbox and place the cursor in the box and Ctrl + V):

C:\Windows\System32\C:\WINDOWS\system32\st3.dll

Then check the Delete on Reboot and Unregister .DLL boxes then the red button.
Agree you want to remove the file but do not let it reboot yet.

Let it reboot after the last one - if it doesn't find one that's OK.

Reboot into regular mode

The O20 line may require some more work. If it returns after the above then:

Download L2MFix from one of these two locations:

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts. Then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing Enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening. After a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into a reply.

Run another HijackThis log and post it as a reply. Let's
see how we did.
