We are planning to use our current VNXe 3100 for our primary file storage.  We are already using 12 600GB 15k and have 2 storage processors for VMFS with 3 ESXi hosts.  Were looking to create a 15-20TB usable file storage share.  Our question would be for best performance would we benefit from using a dedicated server to mount a gerneral iSCSI volume from the VNXe or share the Storage directly from the VNXe storage processors?

I would presume we would see better overall file access performance if we had a dedicated file server with say 64GB of RAM, and a 4Core processor.  Would this also allow for better performance for the storage processors for the VMFS via iscsi?
