Black screen after updated to windows 11

I have a Dell Vostro less than 2 years old, tried to update to windows 11 yesterday and now get black screen after the Dell logo appears. None of the F keys seem to do anything.  Tried to reset Pc but says unable to reset... Please help, just started doing taxes.  Called Dell but wanted $300 to extend the warranty.

Did you make sure your Vostro is approved to upgrade to win 11? Check the list--

Dell computers tested for upgrade to Windows 11 | Dell US

Post how you tried to upgrade and tell us users what model Vostro you have and we will try and help.

If you did a clean install you can't go back-- you will have to reinstall windows 10.

Hello, my laptop is a Dell Vostro 5581 and it is available to download Windows 11. Did windows update for 11 and told computer to restart when completed.. Everything turns on fine, get to dell logo and tries to load and then complete black screen. Would be happy to go back to Windows 10, everything was working fine.

    Hello

    I gave up trying.

There is something to be fix.

    Vostro system up to date

Win 11 installation work fine until I restart the computer with a black welcome screen black screen with white text

No virus, no malware, win 10 up to date an 5581 model approved for update.

I tried several tricks with display drivers, sensor driver, commands just for the fun.

The result is unequivocally the same : Black screen and roll back.

    today again ; Roll back

    Any help welcome

My company currently has the Vostro 5481, a few of us have XPSs. XPS upgrades to W11 went fine, but the first 2 5481 machines I tried to upgrade both ended up with the blank screen you describe here. On both occasions I was able to use W11 once, get things setup, then after restart it did not make it past the Dell Logo at start up. Keep in mind, these machines were completely current with all Windows and Dell updates, latest versions of everything, and still this problem occurred.  I don't have a fix for making W11 work on these machines, but entering the Advanced Options (AO) menu at startup and reverting back to Windows 10 is the fix, and it resolves the issue quickly. To get to the AO menu, I turn the laptop on, and when the Dell logo pops up hold the power button down (5-10 seconds) until it force shuts down. Do this again and the next time you turn on the device you will enter Advanced Options menu. This method works because the computer detects 2 failed startup attempts, so it takes you to AO automatically. Once there, search for an option to go back to a previous version of Windows. You can also search Windows Advanced Options online to see videos and guides. It is pretty easy, I just don't have the exact steps down, but they are few.

    Hi Guys,

I had spent two days to fight with the issue and at least found a workaround in the MS forums.

Seems like the issue is caused by the Intel Integrated Sensor hub driver.

    https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/windows-insider-program/huge-problem-windows-11-booting-to-black-screen-with-cursor/m-p/2632667

There is another thread about it here:

    https://www.dell.com/community/Vostro/W11-on-vostro-5481-Black-screen-with-mouse-cursor/td-p/8051263

Until now it works for my by disabling the Intel Interated Sensor Solution device in the device manager while is safe mode.

Would be great if Dell could update the drivers, so that's working properly.

Same here. Giving up and moving to Apple, away from Dell and Windows; fed up with both.
