Have you tried another charger? It actually sounds like the DC jack in the laptop may be the source of the problem. Take a flashlight and look inside the plug to see if the pin in the plug is loose. It could also be the cable on the charger has a broken or defective wire.

i m using only dell charger. when charging disconnected then rotate charging contact pin and its getting connected and after few minutes disconnected automatically.

So, i solved it back then buying a new charger, with no avaiable means of checking what made it stop working correctly.

Now, i just got the same problem again, with the new charger, after a long time of normal use. But the charging problem only seems to happen when the notebook is under stress (eg.: running a game), but doesn't happen when idle.

Sure, it can be solved, probably, buying another charger, but it makes me think there's a problem with something on the PC, since i was using it in different locations (which makes me think it's not a power supply problem related).

Does anyone found a solution on this problem?

Hello, apparently I found a solution to this problems. It is a temporary solution as before it shows only 15mW charging in Intel Graphics command center but after successfully downgrading my bios from 1.21.0 to 1.19.0 it fixed my charging problem. The process of downgrading goes like this:

-Download an old bios on your laptop (I recommend getting a bios not older much than your current one or a bios 2 updates ago)

-Copy it on a flash drive and enable legacy boot options in bios

-Power on your laptop and Press f12 before the boot screen then select BIOS Flash Update option

-There you need to browse for the .exe you downloaded and write /forceit as a remark (Important)

-Don't worry if it says that the update is not successful as it will downgrade itself after rebooting. After the reboot you can now check the bios if it downgraded successfully.

-Restore your bios factory default and exit. now test the charge if it fixed the disconnecting issue.

There are several problems going on with Dell laptop batteries, chargers, bios and Windows software that interfere with proper battery charging. My Inspiron wouldn't charge, but worked plugged in. It updated Windows after that problem started. Next, it started giving error message upon startup saying the battery wasn't recognized and wouldn't be charged. I replaced the charger, buying direct from Dell. It didn't make any difference. I found info online about forcing BIOS to fix it, and it worked, for only one day my charger and battery worked right. Next i bought a battery, it was Dell, not aftermarket. Problem persisted. I then did recovery to earlier time, it worked again, one day. Ugh. I bought another charger from Dell, made no difference. I bought another battery from Dell, didn't work, still said not recognized. Read online that it was a Windows problem, updated Windows with Windows update (something labeled Hr2 or something like that). Fixed. Then two days later, no error message but blinking white light and battery not charging. Ugh. So it's working now, as long as the charger is in a perfect position, half plugged into laptop but not fully plugged into laptop. It's so friggin touchy. Frustrating. Better than it was before, but still frustrating.
