I foolishly connected an external usb DVD device to my laptop. Unfortunately it was powered to a 12 volt power supply which caused all my usb sockets on my laptop to fail. Subsequently the error "usb device drawing too much current" to be displayed. My question is would it be worth replacing the I/O board or is the failure more likely to be on the motherboard board.
