What address book software is this? What version of Windows and what model PC? The more you tell us the more likely somebody will have a solution to the problem.
I don't use Outlook, but it sounds like the database for your contact list is damaged/corrupted. You'll have to poke around in Outlook to see if there's a repair feature that might fix the problem. Microsoft Office products have their Repair feature under Help on the toolbar.
If this doesn't help, and unless somebody responds here with a better idea, you may need to repost this in the Productivity Software forum.
You don't need Microsoft Office to do what I suggested about looking for a Repair feature in Outlook.
All I meant was that in Microsoft Office the Repair feature is on the toolbar under the Help option. So just using that as an example, you might want to look in a similar place on the Outlook toolbar for Outlook's Repair -assuming such a feature actually exists.
