I have an Inspiron 531 Vista basic.

 

Ok first the system crashed, called tech support and was told to just re-install using the boot disk. Alright worked, everything is fine. Two days later my system crashed again. Again called tech, this time I was told it was a bad fax/modem card.  So, I removed the card and re-installed. Again, two days later system carshed a third time. Once again talk to tech, started to install OS when system locked up. Was told by tech that would they would have to transfer me to next level support (using instant chat). 10 min. later got a call from tech support that someone would call me later on (they did but was unable to pick up).

 

Called tech a FOURTH time started to try to re-install and still having problems when I got disconnected from my rep.

 

This is the problem I am stuck on:

 

boot from cd, windows starts to loading files, then I get the green waiting bar (no vista logo) for a minute or two, then the screen gose completely black.

 

Also, got the pc in October of '07, was using Anti-virus, firewall, and spyware programs. All scans were showing no problems. Thanks.
