[Critical] error message from Dell Support
A couple of times now there has been the little window, supposedly from Dell Support, rolling up from the lower right screen in the area of the tray. It says
"[Critical] You may have an error on your system. You may see the error
'Generic Host Process' or cause file names not to be displayed in Rich Text e-mail messages"
Then it goes to say I should click on "Get It", it being a patch and that "you may see this message if you have updated with windows update ****** (a number which I forgot to write down) but think it started with the numbers 15. Finally it concludes
"you may receive the error message after you restart the computer", the error message being:
Generic Host Process Win 32 Service error.
I find the syntax and word arragnement of the first part of this suspicious, even though the whole message rolled up with Dell's name on it.
I was wondering if anyone else has had this happen .
Update: After looking at some entries in Google, this is not the Windows error message that the program needs to close, just the supposed warning from Dell that I "may" have an error while tempting me to click on the "Get It button" (for a patch). I just downloaded and installed 8 Windows critical updates yesterday. The first message appeared several days ago, and the second one this morning. Thanks for your input.

I received the same message. If you click the "Get it" link you are taken here to download the fix. This may be a corrective measure for some interference between Microsoft updates. I downloaded and installed it with no ill effects.

Thanks Denny...I am almost paranoid about clicking on anything even remotely resembling trouble. :smileyindifferent: Just wanted to run it by the board first....
