Diagnostic help

My wife did a hard restore on our Dell Inspiron 1525,  and used the operating system disk provided by Dell.  The reason she did it was because there were too many glitches and crashes.

Now, after reinstalling the VIsta OS, I have no network drivers. this means that I can not update, or install the drivers that is needed to download the drivers via flashdrive.

What do I do? I am communicating to you through my Macintosh.

Many Dell's come with a recovery partition on the hard drive that will restore the PC to factory condition.  If this is on your PC, it should be used rather than discs.   F8 at power on for PC's delivered with Vista or Windows 7.

On a manual install there is more than the Operating System that must be installed.  There are motherboard chipset drivers and device drivers such as video, sound, ethernet, etc.  HERE is the Dell reinstallation procedures.

I attempted to follow the instructions given but was not given the option to repair computer.  Everything has been "restored" but there was no backup disk made. Now I have to attempt to find  the manufacturer name of each device a way to download each driver.

Thank you FIREBERD for trying to help me. IF you have any other suggestions I am all eyes and ears.

On the computer your using to post here, go to the link below. Click "Drivers and Downloads" and enter your "Service Tag" number. The number is on a sticker on the bottom of the laptop. This will narrow your download list.

DO NOT use "Download Manager", use via "Browser". Save the "Drivers" and put them on a CD or Flash Drive.

    Drivers:  http://www.support.dell.com/support/index.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs

You MUST install "Chipset Driver" FIRST.

     Then Video, Network, etc.
