'flashlight'

when I open system Inspiron 1100, XP os - which is pretty slow - and I go to Control Panel, I get the flahlight for a few seconds....same thing in opening My Computer. Afterh they open first time they seems to be allright but I am wondering what is happeninjg?

    The flashlight means that windows is searching for the files and folders that you are requesting.

    should I be anxious about the flashlight...it does not happen with my other laptop or my desktop?

    It will not hurt a thing my laptop does the same at times it is normal.

    3.4 H/T processor
    1 gig ram
    256 ddr ati 9800
    15.4 wide aspect ultra sharp
    wuxga(1920x1200) display
    Operating system windows xp home
    Service pk 2
    Logitech MX750 wireless mouse
    Nostromo n52 gamepad
