First, go to Start|Control Panel. Click on Add/Remove Programs. Look for KB832671 update. Uninstall it if found.

Microsoft recommends that you use the Office Update site to determine if your computer requires this update before installing it.

Note: Many people worldwide report the same problem. Let us know if it fixes your problem.

How do I get the Dellpatc.zip, as I need the exact steps please.  This is one of the fixes for error 1058 in the Security Accounts Manager.

Thanks for the help.  I just ran into a new problem.     My Security Accounts Manager (error 1058) and Remote Registry Properties (error 1079) both are stopped & I keep getting those error messages when I try to re-start them.  Any help would be appreciated.

Be sure to create a system restore point BEFORE you make registry changes.

Click on Start|Control Panel|Adminstrative Tools. Click on Computer Management icon. Click on Event Viewer. Click + sign side of Application. If you see a Yellow Triangle with Black exclamation mark inside or a Red Circle with White X, right click on that event. Left click on properities and write down error message.  Let me know what it says.

Windows saved used D21NBB21\robert cohen registry while an application or service was still using the registry during log off.  The memory used by the user's registry has not been freed. The registry will be unloaded when it is no longer in use.  This is often caused by services running as a current user account, try configuring the service to run in either LocalService or NetworkService account.

Your help is greatly appreciated, as I don't know what to do.   I also tried to copy the contents of present files, but it also tried to copy my "G:" drive (Maxtor), so there wasn't enough space.   I was trying to make a copy, in case I had to re-install Windows XP PRoffesional Service Package 1 CD that came with my computer in 2003.

I called Microsoft & they say they need an article ID number for the Hotfix; otherwise they can't help me.   Do you know the article number, or is there any website that I can use to look it up?
