HELP! I NEED TO USE "DOS" !!!!
We are still using a 286 to run our farm software (herd management program). I need to reinstall a part of the software but at the same time I want to see if I can run it in DOS on my Dimension 8250 with XP Pro. The 286 won't last forever and there is not a windows version of the software available. Can it be done? If so, can somebody please give me detailed instructions on how to get into DOS on my system? Thanks!

Hopefully you're not actually running WinXP 64 bit edition. If you are the 64 bit edition of Windows does not support DOS based programs.
If you are running the more widely popular WinXP Pro (32 bit edition). I belileve you can just install the software and Windows will open a DOS "window" when you launch the application.
