Microsoft Vista Key

I bought a Dell Studio and with that I got a Vista CD.  If I want to reinstall my OS I have to enter the key.

Where can I find the Vista key.

    pnkjbsht,

On a Dell computer, using the Dell Operating system disks, the disks get the product key from the motherboard, so no product key is needed.

The product key should be on a sticker stuck to the back or side of the unit.

It has been at the base of all Dell laptops I have seen and the back orf all the desktops.

This program will tell you your product key: http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html and alot of other pieces of information.

On many laptops, the Product Key sticker is on the inside of the battery compartment.

However, there is a Dell Recovery Partition on the hard drive, accessed by F8 at initial boot up, and the Dell recovery partition will allow you to restore the PC to the original factory condition and no discs or Product Keys are needed.

See THIS on using the Recovery Partition.
