i hope someone can help.  i have a dell laptop with ms word 2003 preinstalled as part of ms office basic edition 2003.  when you select word, it opens almost immediately (2 - 4 seconds).  if you save a word document and then later click on it to reopen it, there is a pause of 30 seconds to 3 minutes.  it all opens correctly, but the delay is frustrating.

i have tried doing a "repair" of office with a reinstallation.  i've also gone to ms web and installed their latest service pack.  no improvement at all.

since the software came with  the computer, ms won't talk to me.  dell warranty has expired.

aynyone else run into this?  any solutions would be most appreciated.  thank you.  paulm56
