Scheduled Tasks in XP

I??m trying to setup the Scheduled Tasks app in XP to help me automate some maintenance tasks like Defrag, Anti-Virus scans etc. I??ve come up with a few problems.

1. When a program is set to run ??When Idle?? can I set this also to run only once a day or once a week? My NAV is currently set to this and it is running quite a lot! Once a day or even once a week would be fine.

2. When I try to setup a task for Defrag and then Run the task a window appears to flash onto the screen and off again and then nothing happens. Looking over the log I see a exit code of 1. I??ve looked over the command file instructions and my current command reads as ??defrag c /f /v >C:\logs\defraglogc.txt??

3. Is defrag able to defrag all the drives in one go or must I set up three tasks for drives C,D and E?

4. Do I need to be logged in for these tasks to run? I will give each task a username and password for an administrators account. In that case can I just leave the PC on the log-in screen?

Eventually I would like to setup task scheduler to run defrag on all my drives (actually one drive and three partitions) and also run scandisk to check for drive errors.

Thanks for your help on this. If my expectations for Task Scheduler are to high maybe someone can recommend a third party app which could do these things (for free)
