Task Scheduler Error message

I am trying to email myself a file using Task Scheduler. I see following sequence under History:

Taks Triggered
Task Engine Received message to to start task
Task Started
Action Started
Action Failed
Task Completed

The failure error message is  as follows:

Task Scheduler failed to complete task "\Call Log Notification" , instance "{05C9CFD1-0388-47D5-8B04-9DA36D11C2AA}" , action "Call Log Notification" . Additional Data: Error Value: 2147746321.

Any hints on how to troubleshoot this???

Many thanks

The task may need administrator privileges to complete. Maybe look in that direction and I will too.

    ******** Edit *****************

Open the task properties and check that " Run With Highest Privileges " is checked. Also check through the various other tabs and see if there may be something else stopping the execution.

I am completely unable to use the 'Send an email' functionality in Task Scheduler ( and yet I have at least three other programs that send similar automated email notifications without a problem.

As a workaround, I did the following:

    1) created a one line batch file, using the free command line SendEmail utility
    2) used Task Scheduler to 'Start a program' to auto schedule the batch file

    Works like a charm.

And yet if I use the exact same email parameters in Task Scheduler ( ie to, from, smtp etc), it wont work.

So I can automate tasks via Task Scheduler, and I can automate email notfications outside of Task Scheduler, but I cannot use the email functionality within Task Scheduler.

Have others , using Vista, successufully used the 'Send an email' functionality in Task Scheduler??
