I read the FAQ article about multiple operating systems, but my problem seems different.

My registry file was corrupted and my machine would not boot.  (I was in Beijing at the time.)  Del service came to my hotel (Yes, there is Dell service in Beijing!) and reinstalled Windows XP. (I had my CD with me.)  Unfortunately, all my software, while still on my hard drive, was not visible (I guess not registered) in the new installation of XP.

When I got back to the US, I found a way to restore my registry file for my original XP from a backup.  I got it working and all my software seems to be properly installed.

My problem is that when I boot my computer I now get a choice of which operating system I want to boot to.  Both choices are for Windows XP Home Edition.  The problem is that the first (default) choice has no software installed in it.  The second choice has all my stuff.  If I don't catch it in time, I have to reboot.

I kind of like having the two choices, because if I get a corrupted registry file again, I will still have a way to get into my computer, but I sure would like to reverse the order so that the version with all the software installed is the default.

Is there any way I can do this?  If not, is there any way I can delete the second installation of XP?
