Up Arrow Key --> Start Menu Opens Up

ok so every time i press the up arrow key, regardless of what program i am on, the start menu opens up. will someone please tell me how to make it stop? i looked for alternative ways to make it stop but i've finally resorted to going on forums...

- i press the up arrow key and it still opens up the start menu... and i do not have any disabilities or difficulties opening the programs on my own; i have difficulty trying to get the start menu to STOP opening up every time i press the up arrow key.
