Go to Start|Control Panel|Administrative Tools|Event Viewer. Look for an error under either Application or System. Right-click the error and choose Properties for an explanation.

There are no errors listed. I am 100% positive that window comes up. I just want to know what app is doing it.. Is there any other way?

OK, somehow my computer ran a little slower and I got a small glimps of the name of the error. It said ".Net Broadcaster" thats all I got out of it. Any ideas what this is?

You might be able to identify the application if you take a look at the Application tab of Task Manager each time before you shut down the computer. That would seem to be the only method to use, since no errors appear in Event Viewer.

No idea. A search turned up only this which only shows that other users are experiencing the same problem.

If you don't normally scan for spyware it might be worthwhile to do so, just in case .Net Broadcaster can be identified by one of the antispyware programs. Download Ad-aware from here and Spybot from here. Check online for updates to their databases then run them and delete all the spyware they identify.

I apreciate your help. Yes I do scan for spyware, I use microsoft spyware scanner. I figure who better to know what is spyware than windows themselves.

MS spyware scanner needs some help. You should run AdAware and Spybot in addition to MS'. Each finds stuff the others miss.

Mary is right. In fact, it was recently published that since Microsoft bought the company that makes Gator (a spyware program), the MS Antispyware application no longer identifies Gator as spyware.

Wow you guys were right. I did have some spyware. I ran spybot search and destroy and it found 8 entries. Thats messed up becuase i formatted my computer not more than 3 days ago.
