windows module installer error 126
Hi.
I have vista 32bit with no service packs installed. (this all started when I tryed to install microsoft updates)
Sfc scannow doesnt work, which led me to windows module installer not being started, and when I try to start it it gives me error 126 not found.
I cant find a fix for this on google. Ive been trying for hours. Can someone please help? (My question is can you help me get windows module installer started so I can install updates and other things on my moms computer)

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum
Remove the corrupted Windows Update Files. To do this, follow these steps:
1. At the command prompt, type the following command and press Enter
net stop WuAuServ
2. At the command prompt,
type cd %windir% and press Enter
3. In the opened folder, type the following command and press Enter to rename the Software Distribution Folder
ren SoftwareDistribution SD_OLD
4.Restart the Windows Update Service by typing the following at the command prompt
net start WuAuServ
Type Exit and Press Enter to close the command prompt.
Reboot the system.
