Missing characters in e-mails

Missing characters in e-mails

We are using Wyse 1200LE with updated firmware and viirtual servers with TS 2008R2. Quite a number of our users are finding that when they are typing e-mails on Web Mail (through our servers to a hosted remote mail server), it is painfully slow and a lot of characters are missed. We have checked our connectivity, as well as ping/jitter, etc and all checks out ok. Also checked with e-mail provider and they say it's beyond their scope due to the thin clients. Users cannot replicate the problem on any other program - GMail, Hotmail, Excel, Word or on the web generally. We have asked our server techs to have a look, as well as our Terminal Server consultant and they've come up empty. This spreads across numerous locations in two Provinces (Canada).

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

have you tried connecting from a PC to the same TS server and you have no issues? Sounds like a network latency issue and RDP starts showing effects of latency once you get above 40ms and such. Also you are using a very old thin client, newer models like the C10LE have latest version of RDP7 that provide a drastically improved interactivity due to better compression, etc especially when using TS 2008R2.

Thanks for the post hangulo - we have tested outside our MPLS/VPN and cannot replicate the problem. One of the most vocal complainers her is in fact using a C10LE and he has the problem in spades.
