For the past few days the volume is not working. After several checks I can see that under
Settings > System > Sound > Volume Mixer
The system volume is set to "0" and there is an "x" next to the speaker icon. When I try to move the volume indicator to the right to raise the volume, it comes back to "0" all by itself and when I click on the "x" to unlock the speaker, it does not do so...
Check Device Manager and make sure that your sound device is active and does not display an error. And not knowing your model type (you did not post it) make sure that it is shown in the sound settings (such as Realtek High Definition Audio).

On record with your email address we have an out of warranty 2020 XPS 15 7590. For our users to assist, is that the PC that has this "Volume not working" issue? If yes, what operating system?
