XPS 13 9310 NIGHTMARE
Today will be the third service done to my Dell XPS 13 9310. Within half a year of ownership, I have already experienced device freezing, blue screen of death, WIFI card malfunction, which results in two systemboard replacements, recently I started to get LCD screen flicker and black outs to the point where I have to shut the laptop and open to get the LCD to turn back on. The Dell tech was suppose to repair my laptop on friday but he had to reschedule until Monday at 10:30am. 10:30 comes around and no call or text message indicating that he is going to be late, so I gave him a ring, he said he was sorry and is not coming until 12:30. So I waited until then. He shows up at 1:00pm and apologized saying I having a bad day.... I do not know why I am still doing this and process to ask where is my device. I showed him my laptop as he opens up his part box and he noticed that he has a screen replacement for a 17" Dell laptop and proceeded to say is this the right laptop? This doesn't look right...laughs and says let me go back to my car I have another box. He came back and started to work on my laptop and I left him alone to do his business. As I was peaking over I can tell he was struggling and kept complaining that the screws were stripped as he was pressing down hard on the LCD hinge. Then he gets down on all four and starts searching for some screws he dropped... At this point I was already a little upset.
He finally finished and told me to take it for a spin and make sure its all working. Without telling me he had used a completely different screw for my bottom cover that stuck out like a sore thumb, and left the service tag from the new LCD wedged between the keyboard and the hinge. Here are pictures.
He left all excited saying how much he is happy the day is over and will be locking himself in the house.
Not even 30 minutes after the service, the laptop screen starting flickering and blacking out once again. I contacted support and looks like I will be getting another system board replacement.... I am starting to hate this thing! https://youtu.be/vE9mRH0xFo4
Pretty upset I had a Dbrand on my top cover and replaced it for no reason. >_<
sorry this is my rant....
