Alpha R2, shuts itself off

Hi, my Alienware Alpha R2 shuts it self off when im playing certain game like Vermintide 2, Fortnite etc. When it shuts off there is no warning or anything. I have to plug the power brick out and plug it back in for the Alpha to turn back on. Are there any solutions for this?

From boot (outside of Windows) run ePSA Diagnostics (if available).

In Windows, check Reliability Report for exact error.

    Hi @Kevwina,

This could be related to overheating, try running a video card stress test. Follow the steps below to do this.

    • Open Support Assist
    • Click on the Checkup option
    • Click Run Custom Scan
    • Click on the Nvidia/AMD card
    • Select the Stress Test option

If you do not have Support Assist installed, click here for the download link. Let us know how high the GPU temperature goes in the stress test.
