Aurora R13, AWCC 5.x does not work

  1. In the last conversation that I had with a technical support supervisor, he confirmed that Alienware Command Center V5.x  dated March 12, 2024, has issues as I observed on my R13 desktop. I was advised to look for a new version of this app shortly!
  2. I also have an X15 R2 laptop! The next day, my X15 R2 laptop got successfully updated with Alienware Command Center V6.x dated March 20!
  3. I checked the Dell Support Download Site and confirmed the available Alienware Command Center app for my R13 was still V5.x!
  4. As of today, April 10, 2024, there is no V6.X for my R13 desktop! Please advise on when this version will be available!

You should only use the ones from the official driver page.

Not all models use the same version, and not all versions work on the same models.

WHYQ is using the 5.x version from the Aurora R13 drivers page. But WHYQ said its not working. Good point about not using the Laptop AWCC on a Desktop!

WHYQ, did you uninstall AWCC, reboot, then install the AWCC 5.6.1.0 Full Installer version?

You can also install and test the older versions =

You are correct that Dell has not issued a v6.x of AWCC for the Aurora R13 as of yet. AWCC 5.x has been a balky piece of software for a number of users over the months. I myself have had numerous issues with AWCC 5.x on my R13 running Windows 11 Pro. That said, my current install of 5.x is the latest for my system from the Dell support site, and it has been working OK for a couple of months now.

I would suggest a couple of things to try on your R13.

As @DELL-Chris M has asked, if you have not yet performed a full uninstall, preferably using Revo Uninstaller, then performed a reinstall using the full AWCC installer from the Dell support site for your specific system, that would be a good starting point.

If after you do the uninstall/reinstall, AWCC is still not working, I'd try this next. As weird as it sounds, power down the computer, and let it sit preferably overnight. Then, in the morning, restart it and see if your AWCC is working. I've done this at least three times when AWCC won't work, and each time, when I start the PC up the next morning, AWCC automagically works. I have no good explanation for why this works, but it does, at least for me. Good luck and keep us posted.

Also there are some pointers and links to other support articles about AWCC here: https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000178439/how-to-remove-and-reinstall-the-alienware-command-center
