Area-51 AAT2250, adding a 3.5" HDD

Hello everyone,

I recently bought a Alienware Area-51 AAT2250 and I must say I am very happy with it,

Before it I had a small chat with sales, I want to know if it was possible to add a 3.5 Hard disk to the system. They assured me this was possible and that is also what I read in the specs (this 4Tb hard drive comes from my old Dell computer and contains documents, pictures and other things that really don't need to be on a SDD Drive).

Placing the Hard Drive most likely will not be a problem (place it in the blue holder, insert it, connect the 2 cables and initialise the drive in Windows).

But when I look at the system I don't see right away a location to place the 3.5 drive. So I assume it is in the lower part part of the case below the fans there. Is this correct?

If so, are there instruction available how to remove the case there (I don't want to mess around with trying).

If this is not correct, then were the 3.5 drive can be added?

Thank you.

@ejn63 Thank you for your answer. The disk is installed and running.

This was kinda funny.

I have been looking where the disk should be placed, but could not find it. In the manual I had seen how to remove the cover.... but reading it again it was as lightening on a bright side: The cover on the RIGHT side and I was looking at the left side. After removing the cover on the left side, it was easy. Within a minute the disk was installed.

My trust in Dell/AlienWare that these kind of things are easy is restored :-)
