Area-51 R6, angry with Dell Alienware support

OK, a little while ago I called into Dell support regarding my Area-51 R6 Threadripper Edition. I specifically asked the rep if the 2nd Gen Threadrippers were supported. He said, and I quote "Yes, absolutely." So that was that. I saved up, and just bought a Ryzen 2nd Gen Threadripper 2970WX. Updated my BIOS to the latest one on the site 1.1.10, and then proceeded to install my new processor. 4 Beep POST code. Looked it up, and it's a RAM issue. So I tried with all sorts of combinations, and none of them worked. Put my original AMD Summit Ridge TR-1900X back in, and everything fires up just fine. What gives Dell? You just caused me to waste $1700 on a processor that I can't even use because your in-house tech support guys don't know their own products, and I'm doubtful Amazon will let me send back because it's been opened, and technically used.

Does anyone know if there is a BIOS for this motherboard that supports the 2nd Gen Threadripper CPUs? I'm half tempted to just buy a new TR motherboard, and put this behemoth of a case out to pasture as an ESXi server or something.
