Aurora R10, Error 0X800701B1 using external hard drive
I just received my Aurora R10 with 5900X processor /Win 10 Pro. I am transferring my files from my Aurora R4 via a WD external hard drive. I have used that same drive to backup my R4 and move files around by plugging it into the front USB 3 port of the R4 with no problem. But I began to notice that when plugging it in to the R10 front USB3.1 port that when copying files to the R10 from the external WD USB drive, I kept getting the Error 0X800701B1 notice, device does not exist, try again. I would try again, and it would work for awhile.
Eventually after several file transfers, the WD external hard drive seemed to disconnect, and it did not even show up on the Drive list on the file explorer. I reconnected and checked the hard drive health and it is fine. I tried connecting it to the second front USB 3.1 port and again the error kept recurring. I then connected it to the USB 3.1 port on the back of the computer and it seems to work fine there transferring GB of files with no problem.
From what I read there may be a USB controller issue since the error seems to occur only with the front USB ports and not the back one.
What are the implications of this problem right out of the box? Are the front ports faulty, is the controller faulty? What needs to be done to fix this problem? I would like some opinions before contacting support. I need to be able to trust connections to the front port when transferring files.
Thanks,
Greg
