Aurora R11, cheapest graphics card that will work?

I'm going to buy an Alienware R11 (i9 10900K) without a graphics card. And then I will need to buy the simplest video card - I just need the computer to work. I'm a composer and I need a computer to work with sound, so the video card is not the main thing at all. And I repeat the question: what is the simplest (cheapest) video card that will work in this computer?

I use a GTX 1050 Ti in my R10 which drives dual 4k monitors at 60hz.  I use it for photo/video work and got this R10 new but w/o GPU off ebay.  If you only need 1 4k monitor, GTX 750 Ti should work as well (minimum to run single 4k monitor).

A few possible issues based on reported issues from other users:

- The UEFI bios makes it difficult to find aftermarket cards that work. Common issue is black screen, inability to enter BIOS setup screen.

- Available size inside is a limiting factor on what cards fit.

-CODEC used on these system is a custom ALC chip for the Audio part. If you are planning on using your PC for sound editing, a separate audio card is a must.

The two lowest ended video cards we validated for the Aurora R11 =

RF20G Nvidia/ECS GTX 1650, 4GB
5V7N7 AMD/MSI RX 5300, 3GB

I bought the R-11 without a graphics card, then bought the Zotac mini gtx 1070.  Installed it without a hitch. Great little card.  Temps have been great and works fine.

Thanks for the reply. A good solution. And what do you say about the maps proposed above: jdubyas - GTX 1050 Ti and GTX 750 Ti (this is the cheapest) and Sparky1964 - Zotac mini gtx 1070?

In general, is the manufacturer important or can I buy a card from any manufacturer, for example (GTX 1650, RX 5300)? Or GTX 1050 Ti,  gtx 1070?

(GTX 1050 and GTX 1070 are cheaper than GTX1650)

Thanks for the reply. Of course, I have a separate RME Babyface Pro sound card.

Just be careful with the UEFI and the BIOS entry. I have not heard of it as of late, but there were some reports in the past about black screens when using aftermarket cards.

It might have been resolved by now, but just giving you a heads up.

generally most video card manufacturers build off of nvidia reference card so brand shouldn't really matter.  I had the gtx 1050 laying around and it worked with no issues.  Nvidia 700 series card and up should have UEFI support (needed for win 11).

Best card in this category is OEM Dell Radeon R5 340X 0Y7XRF

This is the most economical option. But I'll try 1050ti or 1650.
By the way, in the card you recommend 1 fan. 1050 and 1650 are with 1 fan and with two. Which is better? Will it be noisier with two fans?

just make sure the length of the card will fit the case. typically the 1 fan gpu cards will be little bit shorter.  as long as you're not a extreme gamer, number of fans won't matter.  the shorter card will also allow more room for better airflow within the case.  hopefully the i9 you get comes with liquid AIO cooling and not an air cooled cpu fan.

Thank you, I take advantage of your comments. Yes, there is liquid cooling on the processor. I asked about the number of fans, worrying about the temperature regime (heating of the card) and also about the noise produced by the fans.

But, judging by your words, it's not worth worrying about overheating - I'm really not going to play difficult video games.

Thanks. And why such a large font?

Do you recommend Radeon R5 340X  for me, for my Alienware Aurora R11? Did I understand you correctly?

If it's really the 10900K chip, that should have integrated graphics -- as in, you don't need a card at all if you don't need fancy graphics abilities.

If it's the 10900KF, that would not have integrated graphics, and you'd indeed need a card.

@Alexartist

I'm older and the large font is based on visual acuity.

The largest letter on an eye chart often represents an acuity of 6/60 (20/200), the value that is considered "legally blind" in the US. Some individuals with moderate myopia may not be able to read the large E without glasses.

The OEM R5 340X  0Y7XRF works fine.  Its not a 3rd party card its made by dell.
