Aurora R11, GPU compatibility
Alienware Aurora R11
Hi All,
I purchased the Aurora R11 in 2020 with the 1000w PSU and with GeForce GTX 1650 Super 4GB GDDR6. Motherboard is ON43JM.
Initially the PC was only used for management and strategy games with low graphic demands. Recently my daughter has begun to try to use it for more demanding games such as Planet Zoo and BeamNG Drive. Both of the games cause stuttering when the graphics are turned up or there are lots of other cars, animals or people on screen. Therefore I am looking for an upgrade on the GPU and wondered if this card is any good and would be compatible?...
ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 3060 V2 OC Edition 12GB GDDR6
Any advice on this cards compatibility or other compatible cards to consider would be greatly appreciated.

That graphics card will work in your R11. Since you are upgrading perhaps consider skipping over the Ampere series and jump the Ada Lovelace with the nVidia RTX 4070 Founders Edition
Any graphics card that is less than 270mm long should work in your rig. Remember for a 3rd party graphics card you will need to disable Secure Boot in the BIOS menu while your current Dell OEM graphics card is installed prior to changing to the new retail graphics card.

When you say 3rd party, you mean due to it being supplied by ASUS, MSI etc. Correct?.
So if I purchased the Nvidia version, that would be considered 2nd party. Would I still need to disable secure boot for an Nvidia card.
Apologies, but I'm learning all of this from scratch.

Any card that is not made by Dell is considered third party, including the ones made by Nvidia.
