Aurora R11, RTX 3080, Cyberpunk crashing

Dell uses standard "Reference Design" cards (usually rebranded MSI cards).

The latest WHQL driver from nvidia.com should work fine.

If not, try the preceding WHQL release driver.

While the driver may be the issue its more likely that power supply is insufficient.  You can always have more power than you need but you will have issues when the gpu spikes with power levels that the supply cannot handle. Worst case its a DIE nad FRY everything with a cheap PSU maker.  More expensive models will shutdown that rail causing a freeze, or reboot.

Thats why dell designs the power supply to match the gpu at build time.

Be extra wary of the power supply if it occurs during moments of high stress, such as video encoding or gaming. This may be due to the power supply failing to keep up with the demands of the computer. However, this is also a symptom of an overheating gpu or processor.

Newer card designs have been plagued with thermal pad issues and worse where they die due to poor assembly or defective design.

Recently, it was reported from several sources, that the EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FTW PWM and memory temperature is running warmer than expected during Furmark (an extreme stress utility).

EVGA has investigated these reports and after extensive testing, below are our findings:

• On ACX 3.0, EVGA focused on GPU temperature and the lowest acoustic levels possible. Running Furmark, the GPU is around 70C +/- and the fan speed is running approximately 30% duty cycle or lower.
• However, during recent testing, the thermal temperature of the PWM and memory, in extreme circumstances, was marginally within spec and needed to be addressed.

Conclusion: EVGA offers full warranty support on its products, with cross-ship RMA*, and stands behind its products and commitment to our customers.

To resolve this, EVGA will be offering a VBIOS update, which adjusts the fan-speed curve to ensure sufficient cooling of all components across all operating temperatures.

I have a 1000W power supply, from Dell.  I cleaned out the Nvidia driver with DDU, let Windows pick the the driver for the Dell 3080, and BAM, all good.  Stable. version 456.38
