Aurora R12, can't boot from USB, KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE

Question

I've created multiple boot media using various different applications for Windows 10 and Windows 11 using Rufus and the Bootable media creator tool from Microsoft. I've also tried using different flash drives but I get the same result when I try to boot from it. I get the error while its trying to load the windows installer KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE. I've also tried booting with and without secure boot with no difference. I got a new 4TB M.2. drive and I'd really like to be able to install Windows on it.

The solution for me was to use clonezilla to clone my 1tb factory drive with all its hidden partitions over to the new drive then after that it let me boot from the usb drive and i was able to correctly format my drive and install a clean copy of windows. For some reason swapping out the main m.2 drive with the new one caused issues so the only fix was to imitate the original drive via a clone. Very bizarre.

Windows is telling you your installation media has somehow become corrupted, or at least that the data loaded from it has been judged corrupt. Just guessing at possible causes:

Corrupt ISO image used to build install media
USB flash drive malfunctioning
System memory malfunctioning

I'd suggest verifying the checksum of your ISO image, but you do say that media built with Microsoft's media creation tool fails as well. I'd expect best results with the latter, and try another USB drive and/or a different USB port on the system. If that fails you may want to run a memory diagnostic, and probably other system diags while you're at it. There's no problem indicated with your new SSD, since all you're trying to do at this stage is write data to it. I suspect installation would fail at some point with Secure Boot disabled, since Windows 11 requires it, so best to leave it enabled.

it is likely not due to USB drive itself.

there is something interfering and causing error in USB read when system tires to load installer files. sounds like you get this error before installer is finished loading.

try remove all other USB peripheral devices connected to PC. leave only the USB key plugged in.

If same error, try burn a DVD using Microsoft media creation tool (it gives you option to burn DVD vs USB). use the DVD to install OS on the new M.2 ssd.

if same error with DVD, I agree system memory may be suspect.

Do you have any USB 2.0 ports on that PC? If so, try booting with the flash drive in a USB 2.0 port. Sometimes Windows installer won't work from a USB 3.0 port but will from a USB 2.0 port. Also, as @redxps630 says, disconnect other USB devices before attempting to boot from the flash drive.

Run the built in EPSA check to verify your hardware using the F12 key: EPSA check    Also, what happened to the original installation that came with the machine? Did it have the same issue?
